About the event

Drupal Moscow 2009 conference is a social informational venue designed to gather in one place a community of people related to the wonderful Drupal web platform. Those are users, developers, system administrators, designers and simply good people. Our aims are:

When?

We have plans for this November but as it is better to get prepared well than fast, the terms will be known after all the preliminary work is done. Follow our RSS or twitter. The conference will last for two days.

Who are we?

We are members of the Russian internet community drupal.ru, for whom Drupal project has become not only work but also an interesting hobby. Our community exists since 2003 and includes members from Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia and other countries. We have successfully held a trial seminar for 50 persons in Moscow in 2008, but the interest towards Drupal and free software is growing — this August, DrupalCamp organized by the Ukrainian community drupal.ua in Kyiv has assembled over 200 participants already. Now we plan a conference in Moscow expecting mostly Russian developers but we are happy to see guests from other countries!

What is Drupal?

Drupal (drupal.org) is a popular web platform enabled to create websites and web applications. The project is elaborated by thousands of members from different countries of the world as a free software (GPL). Over 120 thousand websites are working on Drupal (information for March 2009). Drupal is written in PHP language, popular among web developers. It uses approved industrial DBMS MySQL, PostgreSQL. Further on Drupal for developers >>>

Event Format

The format of the event will be significantly determined by its participants. We use elements of the barcamp format approved during the DrupalCamp Kyiv. The final schedule will be formed on the basis of the participants’ opinions. We propose the lecturers to consider the following ways of communication with the participants:

Code of conduit

Moscow DrupalCamp must be a safe and attractive event for anybody. That is why we elaborated this Code of conduct.
The following activities will not go unpunished and will lead to the immediate banishment. Please watch these rules attentively. Trespassers will be banished for:

  1. aggressive behavior against other participants, physical or verbal
  2. alcohol consumption or being inebriated (at the informational part of the conference; there is no interdiction during the unofficial communication after the informational part)
  3. drug consumption or being under drug impact at the event
  4. smoking in rooms where the lectures will be held

We want to make Moscow DrupalCamp safe and comfortable for all participants. That is why we think that these basic rules are obligatory and non-discussable. Don’t hesitate to contact anyone among the organizers if you have any questions related to this issue. We will be happy to answer.
